Acceptable use policy
Last updated 13 October 2026
This policy is part of our terms of service. It keeps Learn Skills LRS fast, safe and affordable for everyone. If something is unclear, ask us first: support@lrs.ie.
What the service is for
Hosting and tracking e-learning: courses, modules, assessments and the media inside them, taken by learners, and xAPI records of learning activity from courses, learning platforms and apps.
Not allowed
- Anything illegal, or content that infringes someone else’s copyright, trademarks or other rights.
- Malware, phishing, pages that collect passwords or payment details, or anything meant to deceive learners.
- Hate, harassment, sexual content involving minors, or content that encourages violence.
- Using course hosting as general file, video or website hosting: for example, uploading a “course” that is really a download area, a video library for a public website, or a marketing site.
- Sending statements that aren’t about learning (for example, application logs or analytics events) to use the LRS as a general database.
- Trying to get into other customers’ data, testing our security without our written permission, or getting around plan limits, for example with several free accounts for one organisation.
- Putting a heavy load on the service on purpose, or with automated traffic that isn’t learners or your own systems using the xAPI interface normally.
- Reselling the service, or giving access to it to others as your own product, without an agreement with us.
Fair use of traffic
Plans include hosting for your courses, with no charge per gigabyte. That works because normal courses use modest amounts of traffic. As a guide, this is what we consider normal each month:
| Plan | Course traffic a month |
|---|---|
| Free | up to 20 GB |
| Pro | up to 250 GB |
| Business | up to 1 TB |
A 50 MB course taken by 1,000 learners uses about 50 GB. If your courses use much more than this, we won’t cut you off. We will get in touch to find a solution together, such as making large videos smaller or a plan that fits. We only limit traffic without talking to you first if it threatens the service for others.
If something breaks this policy
We may remove the content concerned or suspend the account, as described in the terms. Where we can, we tell you first and give you time to fix it. To report content that breaks this policy, email us at support@lrs.ie.
