Accessibility statement
Last updated 13 October 2026
We want everyone to be able to use Learn Skills LRS, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or voice control. This statement covers lrs.ie (the website, sign-in and the dashboard), tincan.ie and xapi.ie, and the pages learners see when they start a course.
Standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Text colours are chosen for the stricter AAA contrast level, in both the light and the dark theme.
What we have done
- A “skip to content” link, and a clear structure with headings, landmarks and labelled navigation.
- Everything works with the keyboard, with a clearly visible focus outline.
- Forms have visible labels, and errors are explained in text next to the field.
- Charts can be read without seeing them: each has a text description, the daily charts can be stepped through with the arrow keys, and their figures are also available as a table.
- Colour is never the only way information is shown: statuses also have a word and an icon.
- Light and dark themes that follow your device setting, with a switch to change it.
- Pages work when text is enlarged to 200% and on narrow screens, without scrolling sideways.
- Two-step sign-in works with any authenticator app, and recovery codes are available.
How we test
Every page listed above is checked with automated accessibility testing (axe-core, WCAG 2.2 A and AA rules) in both themes; on the date of this statement no problems were found. Automated tests find only part of the problems that can occur, and the service has not yet been audited by an independent expert or tested in depth with screen readers. We plan to do both, and will update this statement.
Known limitations
- Courses are made by the organisations that provide them, with their own authoring tools. How accessible a course is depends on how it was made; please contact the course provider. Course authors can find accessibility guidance from their authoring tool’s maker.
- Some pages of the Stripe payment and billing portal are run by Stripe; see Stripe’s own accessibility information.
Feedback and contact
If something doesn’t work for you, or you need information in another format, please tell us: support@lrs.ie, or call +353 91 39 55 01. We aim to reply within five working days.
